Always look at your upcoming blocks and plan 2-3 moves ahead. Don't just place the first block that fits!
Look for placements that create opportunities for multiple line clears. A well-planned move can set up a 4-line combo.
Group same-color blocks strategically. Large color pops score significantly more than small ones.
Create patterns on your board that naturally lead to line clears. Leave gaps that you can fill later.
Place blocks to create a "sandwich" - incomplete lines with same-color blocks above and below. When you fill the gap, you get a line clear + color pop!
Use corners strategically. Blocks placed in corners are harder to use later - plan accordingly or save them for last.
Try to maintain roughly equal distribution of colors on your board. Too much of one color limits your options.
Deliberately leave an incomplete line with matching colors adjacent to it. One well-placed block can trigger massive points.
Take your time! Quick decisions often lead to suboptimal placements. Pause and think before every move.
Don't just focus on lines. Color matches can be equally valuable - sometimes more valuable!
Avoid placing all same-color blocks together unless you can pop them. Spread colors strategically.
Always check your upcoming blocks. Your next block might be the perfect fit for a setup you've created.
