Score Sources

In ZooBlocks, you earn points from three main sources:

1. Line Clears

Clear complete rows or columns to earn points:

2. Color Pops

Match 3+ blocks of the same color to pop them:

3. Overlap Bonuses

The biggest scores come from overlap turns where a line clear and a valid color pop resolve together!

🎯 Overlap = Double Scoring!

When cells cleared by line also count toward a color pop, you score from BOTH systems simultaneously.

Scoring Formula

Here's the underlying scoring logic:

Line Clear Points = 100 × (2^(lines-1))

Color Pop Points = blocks × base_points
(base_points: 3=10, 4=15, 5=20, 6+=25)

Overlap Bonus = Line Clear + Color Pop (additive)

Multi-Line Multipliers

Clearing multiple lines at once provides exponential point multipliers:

💡 Key Strategy: Always look for placements that create multi-line clears. A 4-line clear is worth 16x a single line!
